Hi ,

My 8520 wont switch on, when connected to the charger it shows the battery image with an x over it . . .

it worked fine, and then i left it switched off for about 2 weeks or more and now this fault.
what could be wrong?
any help is appreciated

That usually means there is something wrong with the battery. You might need to replace it. Also the battery could be completely dead and a "stack charge" might fix it. Does the red light come on briefly when you plug it in? If so that means the battery IS getting a second or two of juice. KEEP doing that unplug then plug in again, literally a hundred times and you MIGHT get it to take enough juice to start charging normally.

its a common prob happened with me too first take the battery out of ur phone then connect the charger when red light flashes insert the battery and let the phone charge after 30-45min it will automatically start but plz keep patience if dosnt work try changing the battery

Hi , friends i m new here and my query is that i have 8520 also that doesn't turn on, a red lite blinks after 10 to 20 seconds,

1... no matter how many time i connect it to PC or with charger it doesn't show any sign but blinking red lite ..
2...i have tried removing battery and then connect it with PC and charger but even battery sign doesn't show ..
plzz can anyone tell me the reason of this trouble i have changed my battery and charger also but no improvement..
tell me whether it is a hardware issue or software..?
