    Hey all..

Just got my first bb (8900) about three months ago.. Having always been a nokia owner prior to this I wasn't sure of the switch.

However, I don't think I can move to any "non-blackberry" device my entire life now..

Having a small issue with losing profile settings after upgrading os or removing applications on my phone. I have to manually change all tones / notifications for all apps (phone, sms. email , facebook etc).

Is there any work-around to this.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Yes, get in the habit of making regular backups.

If you are losing your profile settings following an update or removing an application, look for a loaderbackup(date).ipd file in your My Documents folder.

You can do a restore from this file using Desktop Manager's Backup/Restore wizard.

Each time you do an upgrade to your OS or use the Application Loader, it should put a loaderbackup file in your My Documents folder, unless you are selecting the Do Not Backup and Restore Data option.
