Hi i got my 8900 yesterday and its siting in its box still waiting to be opened! trouble is i found this website and then started reading around and I don't know if I should keep this phone or wait untill october(latest) to for a new blackberry to arrive.
Any help would be great I don't know how much longer I can resist opening the box!

I wouldn't hold my breath for an October release date. Blackberries are notoriously pushed back from the rumored release dates. I would suggest that you use the device for at least a week but not longer than the return period. If you like it, then keep it. If you think you would rather a model that is coming out down the road, then return it and wait. Also, if you are always waiting for "the next device" then you will never end up with a device.

You have a very good device in the 8900... unless you have a huge area of 3G coverage and plan on just staying in that are and want to wait until sometime later this year, or early next year (there was plenty of talk about the 8900 coming out in November of last year... did not happen). The only advantage with the Onyx/Driftwood over the 8900 is 3G.

i actually bought the 8900 to help me wait for the driftwood. Keep it and get the driftwood when it comes out and ebay the 8900. You may even find yourself keeping the 8900. Its a great device. I am buying the DW too but wouldnt sell the 8900 unless I had to.
