if it was the other speaker, so when it use to be ringing ?, because i have try all thing, like playing music, activate loudspeaker during a call, messenger alert, call ring. and there's not even a single sound coming from "that" speaker.
No, guys it is not a speaker or a speaker port. The slit on the side of the phone to your left of the lock button and above the left (your left, phone's right) side convenience key is the lanyard hole. If you take off your battery door, you can see there is a little hook for the lanyard to attach to - it is right next to the screw.
That's a hole for speaker sound to get out. The 8100 had the same thing and it was the only sound hole. Then Seidio made a different battery door with a cutout right in front of the actual speaker to make sound louder (I had one). The 8900 has 2 now.
i think that is for certain belt clips for the phone to lock in place. There is a picture of a belt clip on the home page that shows what im talking about.
exactly what i thought he was talking about and that would be to let the sound out. the 8330 curve has it also, except it's two smaller ones instead of one big one.

Its not a speaker is a hole to let sound from speaker through, if that hole wasn't there u wuldnt be able to hear sound as loud n clear from the speaker
Oh!! The hole at the top, duh. Sorry guys I read this the wrong way and thought it was the lanyard hole. Yea I believe this is just a speaker port so that air can flow into and out of the speaker.
But if it was another hole so the sound can travel through, why when I test to close the bottom speaker with my finger and the sound was like completely silenced ?
