I need to wipe my 8900 so it is in out of the box condition.
All the posts I have found on this refer to these instructions:
Options > Security > General Settings > Menu > Wipe Handheld

My BB doesn't give me this option, when in the "general settings" area, I don't have the "menu" option. It is showing options for content compression, content protection, strength and include contacts.

    I am running 4.6.1.109

thanks for any help, I can't find anything that seems to work on my version.

You can always just set a password on the device, lock the device and then enter in the password incorrectly 10 times.

it is best to use the options-security-menu/wipe handheld option. Using the password trick has on occasion rendered a berry useless - wiped OS as well.

No, once a phone is unlocked... it stays unlocked.
