I just bought a curve from VZ... the base theme is fine for me but I wanted to make a few changes... I downloaded the theme editing software but can't figure out how to get the VZ theme from my phone to my computer... or even if thats possible... any ideas?

I know that the themes are on your computer under RIM, but I have no idea how to edit them. Welcome to CB and BB.

You can't edit them unless you have the source files for the theme.

I am using plazmic to edit the source files... But is there a way to get the source file for themes currently on my blackberry? I would assume the source file has to be on the blackberry for the theme to function... but I am a newbie so maybe I am overlooking / not understanding something here...

No, there is absolutely no way to do what you want to do. There is no way to get the source files from the vendor.
