    if you open a sms mssg to someone and type myver and hit space it should show you all your info.

    Oh sorry, forgot second half of your ?. If you need to update it should do it automatically through DM. If it didn't you can download latest version from Blackberry.com or usually can find it in these forums.

    On a Curve the Left Shift/Alt + H key combination will bring up a Help Me! screen with lots of useful information.
