OK, are you saying you have a Sprint branded phone that did not come with a SIM, that is no GSM side? You can't. Actually, not sure you can unlock it even with a GSM side.

The CDMA Devices can't be unlocked for GSM use. The SIM slot they have is for overseas use. Usually with Vodafone

Pre-BB10 Sprint phones could be. The 9930, 9850, etc.

    As a generalized statement--incorrect.

So these dual mode phones came with the GSM side unlocked? Or they could be unlocked? Thanks

Don't know what you are talking about? Freemyblackberry.com truly provide free unlock code for bb os7 devices or you can just look for the unlock code generator yourself. I have one and it works great.

Verizon ones would come locked but unlockable. I think Sprint's were the same way (locked but unlockable, versus unlocked from the get go.)

All I know is I had a Verizon 9550 with a standby SIM slot, and it didn't connect to ANY GSM carrier even after using that same service and paying money to do so. Honestly, just buy another Curve 3G on Ebay for the carrier you want. I've learned it's a lot easier to buy the right equipment rather than fight with it to get it to work.
