    I have bought a Curve 8520 with OS 4 on board, but I want to update to the next version. Desktop software shows that update is available, but I must be a subscriber. Is it possible to update?

    Download and install the update to your PC:

    Delete all occurrences of vendor.xml (do a search to make sure you find them all - there are either 1 or 2).

    Use the Loader.exe software directly instead going through the BlackBerry Desktop Software. Although you will need to install said software too, as you will need the USB drivers that are packaged with it.

    It's installed on your computer along with the OS.
