No if it is the blackberry holster it goes into sleep mode once it is in the holster
I've learned from other threads that the holster drains your battery. I tried it out and it's true.
Avoid the holster and keep it on standby to conserve your battery.
I had not heard that about the holster but I did about the sleeve that shipped with the phone. I guess it presses on the camera button. I have heard the holster is very snug so it wouldn't surprise me. You could always try stretching the holster if bettery drainage is a problem.

Yes the battery drainage was with the OEM sleeve it came with....however, you may want to check, your holster may put it in sleep for you, with the sleeping magnet...if not pressing stand by before putting it in your holster will get you a better battery life.
I tried the leather holster but it scratched the bottom of my phone. If you put you finger inside you can feel the magnet (on the side of the clip). Apparently I guess the lining is not that great which caused the inside magnet to scratch my phone. :(
