Quick backround, my company has been with Nextel for 12 years. I ordered my 8350i the day after xmas and it came on New Years eve. I never had a blackberry before, but figured I'd give it a try. By January 2, I was ready to flush it down the toilet. Not very intuitive, didn't work as I thought it should, and I spent about 8-10 hours over a 3 day period on the tech line and chatting. The most frustrating thing was the lack of MMS texting (which I thought was specific to me, until I found this site) and the Tech Rep who told me that I HAD to have the internet/email package to be able to send MMS text messages. Needless to say, when I went on my account and saw that I was spending 39.99 for that package AND they are charging me $.20 per text, I was jacked. It was last Sunday, so I had to use the chat line. I told the person I was chatting with that I only wanted to be able to text and use the internet via my home WIFI connection, and she typed that she could take care of changing my plan. Thankfully, she was wrong. I have since set up my emails, which I didn't think I could do with my work email address, and can access the internet at home and anywhere I have signal. I've also downloaded 6 or 7 cd's, which I can enjoy listening to and have updated my planner. My thoughts have turned about this phone. I will still gripe about my daughters Apple Touch being waayyyy more intuitive, and lightspeed faster on the internet, but all in all, this is a work tool, and it is working out fine. Whew!
Now to a minor issue. I set my "one" soft key (right side middle button) to voice dial. It worked prior to me loading music, but currently gives me the message "Unable to allocate memory. Close other applications and try again." I don't have any other applications running (that I know of) and when I go to Options/Memory I have 59.7MB of application memory, which is way more than the 400k they recommend as the minimum. I also have 471MB available on my media card. Any thoughts???
Great site, by the way, it's been very helpful.
