Hi All,
My wife's Verizon 8330's speaker died and she is getting a refurb replacement tomorrow.
Can I just backup her phone on the Blackberry desktop program and then plug her new phone in when she gets it?

yes you can.
However, I reinstalled everything from scratch to avoid any conflicts, etc.
DM will recognize the device, but third party apps are not backed up unless you do the device switch trick.....
