Is anyone else finding a false sms icon after deleting sms messages?
Is there an update that will correct the issue?

Have you tried pulling the battery to see if it rests it and goes away? If another hasn't come in yet, wait for another, delete that one and see if it helps?
Lastly, maybe contact your carrier and see if they can give you any more help with it. Or maybe someone else will have an answer.
But I know that kind of thing can happen on any phone. I've had it happen on many phones in the past. Good luck getting it fixed.
I've done a reset, dialed up and did a program by dialing *228. I am still getting false sms messages after I clear or delete an old message. It's driving me nuts. I may take the 8530 back for a Droid.
