Dust under screen cover
I have had my Curve about 6 weeks now and love it. I even bought one for my wife. The only problem I have had is it seems to collect alot of dust under the front cover. Anyone else having this problem or did I just get a dud?
Thanks...
Thinking about going to the 8320 - any thoughts?

Dust
I had this same problem finally I got tired of seeing all the dust. It seems to collect in the upper right side of the screen. I ended up taking the face place off and cleaning it.
This will probably be an ongoing issue being it doesnt look as though the face plate is sealed very well.

how do you take the cover off and does it void anything

After having mine less than a month the dust started showing up.
It annoys me so much.

I have dust inside the screen RH side, but worse than that, I had the rubberized finish peeling from the top of the phone. Rogers said it was just normal wear and tear (after 7 weeks) and gave me the heave-**. I lost the battle but i'm still fighting the war on quality.

After abt 2 mths the top of my BB is peeling also. But I guess tht happened becos I have the BB in my bag. Tht doesn't annoy me as much as the dust does and it's also on right side.
I hate looking at my BB in bright sunlight when the dust is most visible.

run a search on how to open up a blackberry. there should be a link to a youtube video which will show you how to open the screen. It is very easy, just be careful while working on it.

Anybody having the same issue with curve 8320?

ALL the curves have this issue! Lets riot!

Every phone I've ever had has had dust under the screen and finishes peel off. It's normal.

Dust Issues
The rubber coating on mine is starting to peel on the top as well. That didn't bother me as much as the dust issue.
The face plate comes off relatively easy you do have to be very careful as not crack it or break the side clips that hold it on.
Steps:
Remove the battery cover and battery
the bottom of the phone has the center cap with the carrier logo on it. that unclips and hinges forward toward the keyboard. Be very careful when doing this the clips can break.
In he upper two corners of the back of the case there are two torx screws (#5) I believe remove these.
Now you need to use your finger nails or I used a credit card to unclip the faceplate from the side of the unit. This to you need to be very careful as you can break the plastic mounting clips.
This is the best I can explain it without actually showing you hope it helps? You can also try searching Youtube I net you will find an actual video there.
Once removed you can clean the dust out.

I have this issue as well, it's annoying-- but the 8300 is still an amazing phone!

I love my crackberry curve 8300 it's my first. I've had it almost 4 weeks now and also too I noticed dust on right corner. Sucks because I've been taking extra care to make sure nothing happens to it then this! I don't know if I'm the only only one but I noticed the rubber casing on the right side next to the volume buttons sounds like it's come a little loose. Perhaps this is why dust is getting in? At least I know the dust is a common problem and I'm not the only one whose experiencing it. I'll try and clean it out.

Good to know that everyone else has the exact same problems. What I have been doing to solve the dust collection is to use one of those handy pressurised dusters and spray air under the faceplate (just at the edge of the screen). This seems to disperse the dust, although it's not a permanent solution, it can help. Wish this didn't happen at all...

Ooh good to know! I'm looking now to see if I am having this issue yet. Do any of you that are getting dust under the cover keep your BB in one of those Silicone covers that come in different covers?
I got some only because I am a stickler about keeping stuff lookin like new for as long as I can.
Just curious to know if it makes a diff or not?

Yeah I have developed a little dusk under my screen as well and I'm wondering is there any case that I could purchase use to protect it from getting dusk inside permanently. Any suggestions...
-
I haven't noticed any dust under my screen yet but would surely like to know if there is something out there to keep it from happening. Preventive Maintenance/Care.
-
I had mine for 3 months and have dust under the screen on the right side. Call ATT CS and they told me it was normal wear and they won't do anything about it.
-
supposedly, the otterbox is sealed enough to prevent dust from entering your berry
OtterBox.com | Blackberry Curve 8300 Case
it's not quite out yet and if you can pay the hefty 49.95, i guess this would be a solid bet.
i've ordered my seidio hybrid, hope this helps keep out dust too.

I am on my 3rd 8830 and it is the forst one I have had the dust problem. I am going to try the canned air. Do you use a screen protector?

i got my curve for christmas and today i noticed it had dust on the right side of the screen and a good bit, i hate to take it back but i dont want a ton of dust building up on the screen because anything with a dark background makes it show up like crazy. it sucks

Got my Curve three weeks ago and mine is full of dust under the cover. Called AT&T and they are sending out a new one in exchange as I am still within the 30 days. I bought the Otterbox case which has the plastic cover that surrounds the curve. Hopefully that will keep the dust out becuase I can't exchange again :(
-
It seems like everybody having dust problems have the Curve. I have had the 8820 since September and there is no dust under my screen.
-
Am I the only one here that has never had a dust problem? Not on my previous 8300, and not a "speck" of a problem on my current 8310.
