I recently updated the device software to 5.0 but it has been frustrating me since my phone won't ring, the alarm clock isn't ringing, the lock button is missing, friends can't read bbm emoticons, etc....
does anyone know how to downgrade from 5.0 to a lower version? There's a 101 how-to on this site but it's only for windows users and i have a mac.
    help please!!!

You are SoL if you have a mac.

Find a PC and follow the 101 or run windows on Parallel

Just hold on for a little while. The carriers know about the sound and are working on a patch. If you want, go back to 5.0.0.681 or .592 so you keep the OS goodness but gain the sounds back. Also a battery pull a day returns the tones.

Cant help you with the mac, but there is a tutorial on the 101 forum.

Nope. It's easier, faster and better to use the PC.
