If at all possible is it best to delete using DM? Or is better to delete it manually off the phone?
What would give you a better result?
I just deleted Google Maps and Opera Mini using DM vs. me doing it manually
Any thoughts or opinions?

As long as you do a reset after deleting stuff manually off your BB, then there is no difference.

If the device doesn't ask you if you want to Reset after deleting the application, then yes.
