I'm about to pick up the 8520 curve from koodo but I really hate the silver.
I've been looking at videos on how to take it apart, comfortable with everything except one thing. Taking off the lens. If I just want to change the keypad and the front, is it required to remove the lens?

You have to remove the lens because it's glued to the part above the lcd.

It only voids the warranty if you say "HEY (cell phone provider)! I have something wrong w/ my phone...o by the way i changed out the front faceplate!!"

I changed mine and had to get a replacement phone because my glue didn't stick anymore, i swapped the faceplates and they didn't know. So if you announce it...yes it will void the warranty, but if you keep ur mouth shut about it....ur fine.
