Curve 8520 Audio Problem
I looked through some of the previous problems listed and didn't see mine so thought I would start a new discussion.
I have had my 8520 for 7 months, and within the last two weeks it started acting up when I tried playing music.
Anytime I plug in the head phones it automatically asks me to "say a command" for the voice activation. Which is not something I use. It also doesn't always switch from speaker phone to headset and I have to manually switch to my output of choice, and last but not least when the "say a command" option appears I cancel it and then my MP3's play at a slower audio rate (or half the speed of the actual music). Turning off the device doesn't help and it seems to only correct itself when I do a reset (by removing the battery). Any suggestions?

For the "Voice Command" thing, there's probably just some settings you changed. And for others, OS update would probably fix it.

Since you don't use voice comands... why let it bog down you device?
Install BBSAK, use Remove CODs, get rid of everything vad.
Should give you some free space, performance, and get rid of part of your audio problems.

Which version of OS are you using?

I think I am using Version 4.6.1.290 unless I am looking at the wrong thing. I am not very quick with these sorts of things. Sorry!
Thanks for the tip Diegonei, I will check into that BBSAK.
On a side note, I wiped my blackberry to factory specs without deleting the 3rd party applications and still came up with the same problems. I am going to attempt to wipe everything including 3rd party apps incase it's one of those causing the conflict.

OK, I'm going to go out on a limb here and say I think the problem is with the jack that the headphones are plugging into. I say that due to two clues in the OP's post:
Anytime I plug in the head phones it automatically asks me to "say a command" for the voice activation.
It also doesn't always switch from speaker phone to headset and I have to manually switch to my output of choice
I think that whatever is being plugged in thinks it is a corded headset with microphone and is telling the OS to start the voice dialing. Could be wrong, it could be OS related, but since it just started and occurs when plugging in the headphones, I wouldn't overlook the headphone jack itself.
