Okay, gotta ask; what's the difference between a Curve 3G and the Curve 8530?

I have the Curve 8530 (Verizon) and it says "3G" on it.

I think it may have a faster processor and something like it has real 3G kernels in it or something...basically nothing.

The 9300 is an update to the 8520. The GSM 8520 did not have 3g. The 9300 does. It is also OS 6 ready. Hardware is similar, but the OS, and webkit browser is what makes it alot better.

The 8530 has 3G; does that mean it can use 6.0?

Unless a hybrid guru can prove me wrong, there are internals that will limit the 8520/30 from having true OS6. We have to face it that our devices are EOL'ed.

It seems as if CDMA devices need 512MB RAM to be OS 6 ready (9300: 256MB RAM, 9330: 512MB RAM). As the 8530 has only 256MB RAM it probably isn't even able to run OS6 in theory. The 8520 and 9300 seem to have the same relevant hardware specs as far as we know, so it could be possible to run OS6 on 8520, but I don't think RIM will release OS6 for 8520.

I hope that it does realesed for the 8520 since in SEA the 8520 and 9700 is realesed together and here @ Indonesia the 8520 and 9700 were both realesed with the 5.0.0.2xx so it doesn't seems like realesed or base OS does matter for the 8520

If it doesn't realesed for the 8520 or 8530 I'm hoping that a hybrid-ers could make us the 85xx's hybrids based on the Curve3G's OS6!!

I have seen the 9330 running OS6 and it really makes me picturing my 8520's running the OS6

So far I only heard the 8530 which is going to be EOL'ed while I haven't heard any 8520's going to be EOL'ed anyone knows the truth could correct me since I don't really now about the 8520's going to the EOL'ed list

    Thx

I'm waiting for Verizon to come out with a Blackberry with a physical keyboard and touch screen (like the torch).

I started with the Curve, went to the Storm (sucked), upgraded to the Storm2 (better) and then came back to the Curve2 because I didn't like the keyboard on the screen.

By the way, you need to quit being a troll.
