First new 8530 Dec-2009 and it worked like a charm. It died Jan-2010. Verizon replaced it with a new 8530 a few days later. It is now 5/21/10 and my 8530 just died an hour ago. Same problem, the device started heating up and within an hour or so it was dead. Anyone on here ever had like problems with their 8530? Darn!

My 8530 has been solid since December, no issues.

I absolutely love the 8530 but I'm wondering what's happenin'. I guess I've been lucky since this is the first time in my life that I've ever had issues with a cell/mobile phone...

I also thought I have the coolest pin # 313AFD22! Didn't take much to remember it. Looks like I've have to learn a new one. I guess I have to pull the Pearl out from under my bed and dust it off for the weekend. Nothing still rates as solid as my old 8130 Pearl.

Have you tried updating the OS on these? Maybe there's some sort of reception issue where the phone is having to work incredibly hard to keep reception.

Yes my OS was totally up to date but, funny you should mention that because I was at my job when this occured today and the first time. I work in the basement and it's a lot of concrete that surrounds us in addition to concrete overhead and my 8530 fights to keep a signal down here. I was starting to wonder the same thing with the power and or phone working hard to keeping a signal down here.
