I'm having a problem with my Curve. I'm not recieving all the texts that I am being sent, especially from my girlfriend. We are both on o2, I have an o2 branded Curve, and the strange thing is that when these texts don't come through, I get the two blue arrows in the corner, but the text doesn't arrive in the inbox, it's almost as if it's rejecting it. I've tried taking the battery out and putting it back in again, but it doesn't seem to help. Firewall is off, re-registered phone on network...I've done everything I can think of so if you have any other suggestions bar sending the bloody thing back I'd be interested to hear them.

Another problem I find is that when I connect the phone to my Desktop PC to sync with Desktop Manager, it doesn't always detect it. USB is selected but it won't find it, and the only way I can make it work is to restart the PC. Then it comes up once or twice and then still doesn't work.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

Your first issue could be due to low memory. Go to Options>>Status and see what your File Free is. Anything less than 12,000,000mb and that cold be the problem.

    Can't help with second issue.

Ha, I just checked my file free and it's reading 12230821 of 54919168...did a hard reset by pulling the battery out, and the file free is now 12231721!! How else can I free up more memory?!

    1. Make sure you close all apps properly (menu>close) as well as move all media (ringtones, pictures, video etc) to a media card - if you dont have a media card its a good idea to get one to keep the pictures, ringtones off the device memory.

    2. Delete all texts or unneeded texts and emails. People who save hundreds of texts will eventually have memory related issues.

    3. Clear your browser cache (browser>options>cache operations)as well as the event log........On your keypad hold down the alt key and type lglg and clear the event log (ignore the warning).

    4. If you have too many themes or applications maybe cut down on a few you dont use. Facebook would be the first place I would go for an app that needed to be deleted.

Basic housecleaning is all you need to avoid this issue in the future....

Keep an eye on what applications are running hold alt & hit esc (button right of the trackball) it will show you 5. (phone, messages, bbm, home screen, browser) anything else in there is running and you should look into it.. After you complete many of these if not all - pull the battery with the phone on, wait 30 seconds, replace, when you boot back up check your new file free memory size.

This thread below will help you if you want to do even more memory optimization.
