Hi I have been given a 8900 curve and want to connect it to the net. I have located my home network and switched on the wifi on the phone, but when I try to use the browser it says it aint connected.

Can anyone help? I have searched the forum but with so many hits its a bit of a mine field

Correct. You need a data plan to be able to use the service and without it I believe you can't even if connected to a wifi

Hi I solved the problem I had entered the wrong security code off the router. It now works perfectly, and you do not need any data plans to use the wifi function

Were you able to access internet and stuff ?

Are you sure you don't have a data plan ?

No data plan amd full internet access. The phone was unlocked I just popped in my Orange pay as you go SIM in and away I go, and i had no credit on the card either
