I just bought a sprint blackberry 8330m that was still on in service thru sprint and i got it flashed and my number switch to the new blackberry i got BUT when they ppl that did the service tried to verify that i was working it wouldnt call out. They are telling me that data service keeps shutting down and they are saying its because the phone is still on in service thru sprint. So does the phone need to not be in service thru sprint in order for my phone to work thru cricket?

if the esn number is not clear they should not have tried to activate phone. Clean meaning not stolen or still under sprint contract.

Maybe they mean sprint BIS is still active on the old sprint account. The former owner needs to cancel it or I would think that cricket could do that for you.
The phone will only work with one carrier at a time
