I've joined this board since this problem is doing my head in!
When I was living in the United States I bought a Curve 8900 and had the Blackberry service with T-Mobile which worked fantastically.
I moved back to Switzerland a few weeks ago and just signed up for my BB service over here with the Blackberry plan they offer. Now I've noticed that with several applications, it says that my Data connection is refused or cannot find it.
I've done a hard reset of the phone since I thought it may have contained some T-Mobile settings but that didn't change anything.
First, I would go to Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Table > Menu > Register Now... you should get an email from your provider that your device is registered.
Second, login to your provider's BIS website and resend your Service Books... you should then get an email back for every email address you have registered with them... and no, I do not know your provider's BIS website... sorry!!!
Not sure if Windows Messenger uses data.... not totally sure... however, apps like Facebook, GoogleMaps, GoogleSync, BB Maps all require a BB Data Plan.
