    Just as the title states--what is the difference? I use my Curve as my personal phone, but not for work--do I need to use it for work email to use BES?

    What is the difference?

    BIS: Blackberry Internet Service BES: Blackberry Enterprise Server.. no personal stuff is on BIS

    I had the same question not to long ago.

    If you don't plan to be in a BES then there are somethings you can get rid of on your BB to save some mem.
