bb chat icon there all the time : please help

Blackberry chat says I have one new notification when I. Have no chats open.
When I do it says I have 2.
How do I remove this asap as its doing my head in

First try a battery pull. If it comes back, respond back here and we will take it to the next step.

Also check your saved message folder to make sure there isn't a message in there that you may have saved without opening it. I have done that a couple of times as the Save Message is very close to Delete Message.

I had the same problem several weeks ago. I ended up uninstalling and then reinstalling and I haven't had any probs since then

Also try looking in the recent updates in BBM. that will do it also, or if you have a pending contact.
