I just lost my 8320 and want to upgrade to the 8900. Will my BB backup work onto the new phone?
Some of it will and some of it can cause problems. Things like the profiles are not the same between OS versions and will be incompatible. I came from an 8320 myself and when restoring from a backup onto the 8900 it caused some issues. It's best to simply take the time and start fresh.
In the future backup specific sections using the advanced feature in DM. There you can choose to backup just your address book, calendar and profiles etc...then you can restore specific entries as well.
