I witness auto deletion of my messages and call history this weekend. after searching I found it was due to the space remaining in the onboard memory.

I was wondering how I can change the location of the installation of new apps. Google maps and Live maps store a lot of info locally, obviously, and I was wondering how I can have that stored on my 4gb chip instead.

    Thanks,

Applications cannot go on the sd card I am afraid. It's for music, ringtones, pictures & video only.

Start with a fresh copy of BlackBerry applications development kit and a copy of Java for Dummies.

Only the program developers have the ability to change the code and use external storage for data.

Not all BlackBerrys have the external memory, but those that do could possibly use it in this way.
