    Is there a way to take the link for a bookmark and make it into a shortcut icon on the homepage?

    No, but there are free website launchers available at the App World. I think there's launcher for Facebook, YouTube, MySpace, CrackBerry (of course), and more.

    Actually yea there is. An app called Iconify will do just that. Not sure if its free or not.
