    my blackberry 8530 crashed--no power up--nothing. for no reason, no warning--just crashed instantly. i have taken it to cellular surgeon. they said there was nothing they could do. my cell provider could not get me another blackberry to replace my old one. they had to give me a samsung galaxy sch-i500. now-all my contacts are in my blackberry protect but it was backed up last over a year ago. if i cant get a more recent backup from my blackberry-then i need to transfer my contacts from the blackberry protect to my new phone. immediately. please help. also, any suggestions that may restore phone that i can try.

    Not gonna happen. Bb protect data can only be restored to another blackbbery device.
