Im getting really confused trying to get a simple question answered.

Everyone seems to give conflicting info on whether the 8900 is rsap compatiable and will work with the factory fitted VW handsfree kit in the new Golf.

    Can anyone help?

    Yours hopefully

Hi - I have Touareg and am having similar concerns.

I can get the 8900 to sync but it seems to be flakey. The routine that I used to get it to work is:

On phone search, on car device search
Phone should fine unknown, use it. Car will do nothing.
Phone - add new device and listen, car device search
Phone will ask for 16 digit number after car shows your phone ID
Enter and SAP will connect - eventually.

Other problem is that address book cannot be transfered from the phone and BB dont use SIM card. So you must manually transfer ALL the contacts to the SIM - I only did the ones I really needed.

    Hope this works for you

    Get an aftermarket unit

I have a Pioneer F700BT navigation headunit in my Rabbit and the Bluetooth works seamlessly

This thread maybe dead put I will comment anyway!

I have an 8900 on the UK Orange network and the phone will not complete the pairing process.

I can add the 16 digit pin but then the phone freezes and does not go into SAP mode. The car system says the phone is not compatible

However I have tried 2 separate BB 8900 on the UK O2 network and they sync perfectly. I can even put my orange sim into the O2 handsets and connect with the car system without issue.

All the handsets are on the latest firmware it's really frustrating.

Does anyone have an idea why this can happen?
