8900 Stuck on Boot Up Sequence

(Take a look at the attached image.) I have an 8900 running 5.X that is stuck in the startup sequence. The progress bar gets to where it is and then it just stays there. I've pulled the battery dozens of times. Let it sit for 1 hour and then nearly a day, same result.

Something tells me it's getting hung up on the messages database.

What does anyone suggest? Can JavaLoader help me? Is there any way to interrupt the load up sequence so I can connect to JavaLoader, Loader, etc?

I'd prefer not to wipe it, last backup was from a week or two ago. (I really only would like a couple databases off of it.)

Try doing a safe mode boot. Take the battery out and put it back in then when the led light lights press and hold the escape/back button.

See if that helps. Otherwise, wipe and reload the operating system
