I'm experiencing low volume on tone (especially email one). Same tone on Bold used to sound much higher!
    Any suggestion?

    Thanks

have you gone to edit the profile ?? it gives you the option to set the ringer levels for everything i.e. bbm, email, sms, msn, etc ..

the sound on the bold is def better than the 8900 cause it has more speakers .. so unfortunatly you may have to deal with what you got .. sorry ..

Does the Bold have more speakers or more ports? I was never really clear on that.

In any case I can tell you for sure the Bold is louder and the sound really is nice. With that said, I don't think the sound on the 8900 is bad. I don't listen to music or anything without headphones so for me this was a non-issue. Everyone is different. I also do not have any problems hearing the phone ring on my 8900.

I would take it back then.

My 8900 is very loud on it's loudest setting. Mine's actually set on silent for most alerts but it's certainly a lot louder than my old pearl!

The Bold does have more openings on it then the 8900... Kevin commented on that during one of the podcasts. The 8900 will definitely be a weaker sound when you compare it to the Bold.

IIRC, the Bold has two speakers, so that probably accounts for the loud ringtones.

Even though I had many ringers set to high on my 8320, when I moved to the 8900 yesterday many were set to medium, so I had to change each one. Verify that your settings are proper.

Also noticed some cool new ringtones on the 8900.

I agree. install the .133 beta OS.

I have some instrumental ringtones with a lot of piano that I couldn't use on the .114 simply because they weren't loud enough. Now with the .133, it is improved and I can hear them loud and clear!

    Good luck!

Yes, I can tell you that my ring tone (an MP3 of the iPhone ring tone heard in the very early TV commercials) is now CRANKING on .133. I actually had to drop it to "Low" just so it wouldn't blow my ears out at my desk.

The earphone of my 8900 is very low, hardly clear to listen in the crowdy, are your 8900s same problem?
