This is true, IF AT&T have the service books (for others wondering).

I hated the long path to get the BOLD on T-Mobile, due to not having service books. PLTaylor had a fix, albeit, it took a minute.

you can always unlock the tmobile 8900..

    its the same thing.

As soon as it hits AT&T, that will give me another excuse to get another BlackBerry!
You need an excuse? I like the "it's Thursday and I want an 8900" excuse!

Got the new apps too! I thought I was going crazy. I was afraid to click them in case they were books for a different phone and I would brick my device. Lol.

Well I hope this means something internally at at&t. Cause I don't know how much longer I can hold off this itch, to get an unlocked 8900.

I am desperate for them to release this phone. If they don't hurry, I have ZERO reason not to go to VZW. You hear that ATT? Us Pearl owners need something NEW to stick around...

Exactly. Our contract expires soon, and this is the one I am holding my upgrade for. My wife wants an iPhone, but if they don't bring this out, I will go to Verizon and get a Niagra for myself and a Storm for her.

The games are demos!! I downloaded pacman and got through about 1/2 of the dots in the first level before it told me my time was up and I could buy the full version. What a ruse! The game is $7!
my search for pacman continues! pls hook us up for the legal purchase link to pacman for the 8900?

    thanks!!!

You can just unlock the Niagara and use it on AT&T

Cost is a concern.....and then there's the WiFi issue. An 8900 on AT&T is my first choice, but if they can't come through, then a switch to Verizon is the back-up.

Since AT&T changed their bundling scheme, I have no reason to stick with them other than a unified bill. Verizon's coverage is just as good here.

Maybe it's just an OS sensitive thing. Not necessarily device.

bundling scheme? usually a company gets a 6 month exclusive on a device. So how long as the 8900 been on t-mobile? that will tell you about how long it'll be til the 8900 will be coming out on at&t. trust me if at&t could release it now they would. escpecially right at the break of spring going into summer.

Bundling scheme = where they give you discounts for having home phone, internet, digital TV and wireless all through AT&T. They changed the scheme to where to be eligible for any discounts you have to have the most expensive home phone service - no matter how may other services you get through them. As I don't have the most expensive home service, I get ZERO discounts, even though I have all 4 services. So, I have no external reason to stick with AT&T if they don't have the phones I want.

I seriously doubt that AT&T would release the 8900 at this point. It doesn't have 3G and AT&T is phasing out all non-3G phones because they're downgrading their EDGE network. We'll probably see a 3G 8900 however which is called the 9300 or 9220.

The 8900 has the same microprocessor as the bold. The rep mentioned that too. And the rep also said on the next official os update there might be 3g. The only 3g phones tmobile has now are the g1 and the memoir

3G is not there... tmo reps will do anything to get your business (no offense to those who work @ tmo)

That rep is out to lunch. The processor in the 8900 is a 512 vs the bold's 624. The phone also does *not* have TMO 3G. The radio in the curve is a quad band but 1700mhz needed for TMO's 3G is not part of it.
