I've used a 8520 (T-Mobile) and my main complaint was that the keyboard "wobbled". The keyboard didn't feel tightly in place. I wonder if this was fixed/improved with the 8530 or even later 8520 builds.
You can test this by touching and holding on to the keyboard and slightly move your finger left and right or up and down, and see if the whole keyboard moves. I guess I'm nitpicking but the 8330 never had this issue.
The working display at the Verizon store had a keyboard that moved around a ton. I had read of this problem so I was looking for it. That almost turned me away, but I had one brought out and it is rock solid. No movement and the keyboard has a really good feel to it. Might vary from phone to phone.
my keyboard doesn't wobble, but the "d" key sticks and is inconsistent with the rest of the keys..vzw req at cor store told me "thats how they're made" and "it's because it's new" i insisted on swapping it out but i wasn't allowed due to the 30 day exchange policy (only 1 return/exchange when upgrading and i returned my tour for the 8530). i said "so i have to wait until my 30 days are up and get a refurbished unit?" and she said "yeah". blah, usually the reps are pretty knowledgeable...
I have the phone in smokey violet. This is my second 8530 and the keyboard wobbles bad. Checked out the same phone at the sprint store and they do not wobble.
If I grab a letter, and wiggle, I can see movement of the keyboard as a whole. But it doesn't seem to move while typing.
I'm loving this phone, one month in.
my keyboard moves alot too. it doesnt bother me so much, just kind of annoying. so this IS normal?? i was going to take it up to sprint and ask but didnt know. it was more "sturdy" when i first got it, but i may have loosened it from all the texting, etc. trackpad doesnt move around much at all.

Rep was blowing smoke. That phone was defective. The "d" key and everyother on my device is fine.
