Ok so here is the gist in a nutshell. I wasn't eligible for a full upgrade so I'm paying almost retail for an 8520 but I really want an 8900 should I call them when I get it and tell them that's not the phone I wanted and see if they will send me an 8900. Or should I keep the 8520 and wait for the driftwood? Also does anyone know if I have problems with the 8520 will they send me a replacement 8900. I heard if you call in with a problem more than 3X they will send you another phone of your choice.

Return the 8520. If you really want the 8520 then get it on full retail. It's quite cheap for full retail ($299). I wouldn't get the 8900 now because you have a Bold according to your profile and the Driftwood will be superior to the 8900.

Thanks for the response although my profile is outdated. I'm currently using an old skool 8310. I would just feel a lot better about the decision if I even had a tentative release date for the driftwood. Cause the 8310 isn't gonna last til next year

I'm getting an 8520 for $239+taxes and fees. This extends my contract for another two years but I don't mind. I'm happy with t-mobile. If you're in the same boat you can do the same. You don't have to get the data plan with the contract extension either. I just did it with two phones (got another 8900 because my first one got stepped on and an 8520 frost).

If you don't have an 8900 yet I'd get the 8520 and wait for the driftwood. The 8520 does 95% of what the 8900 does.

Thanks NiteWalker. I've had an 8900 and IMO it was the best berry ever. Before that I had the 8320. I traded my 8900 for a storm that I hated and now I'm stuck with an 8310.I don't really care about not having gps on the 8520 cause I don't use it. Flash is no biggie either seeing as how I hardly ever take pics with my berry.I guess I'll just have to wait til tomorrow and see how the 8520 performs for myself.

Look I have 8900, 9000 but I'm craving a 8520 I think I am going to just go out and buy it. I really believe that I am addicted. Now for the original OP return and get the 8900. If your gonna pay retail get the most for your money.

8900 is a better device. Go for the gusto and you won't regret it.

Well the 8520 is here. Its no 8900 but still a great device IMO. I'm satisfied until the driftwood comes out. Hopefully by then tmo will have 3g in my area

I also got the 8520 and I like. Its pretty cool phone. No regrets. I really love the trackpad. Also it fit all of my 8900 leather sleeves.
