    When I plug in my (new) 8330 I see the electrical icon show up next to my battery indicator, but nothing is flashing, and my battery strength has been at 35% for the last hour. Could I have gotten a faulty plug? Is there any other way to test it? Is there a way to charge it from my pc?

    It sounds like you have a bad charger. Yes, you can charge your phone with the USB cable and your computer.

    Do I need to install desktop manager, or can I just plug it in to my pc?

    Also, is there any visual indication that it is charging, other than the still icon of the electrical plug?
