My only two options ATM...other than a Moto Q9c. I know the 8330 is newer, but which would you recommend. I realize the 8830 is a world phone, but I would make no use of that feature. I'm mainly interested in their use as an internet enabled smart phone.
I love mine to but the ringer volume ticked me off for a while till i figured how to get a nice loud one. But when people start threads asking what they should get i usually tell them, get what you want! you will be the one using it, not us! Read the specs on the phone. Read the reviews. Or just go to the store and play with all the bb's and get the one you like best.
Didn't realize the 8330 had better media features. I thought the main difference was the lack of a camera on the 8830 (Carry a 40D in the car, so no biggie there).
I would *LOVE* to wait for one of the newer phones, but my (rural) carrier probably won't get them for a very long time. They just got the Curve 5 months ago.
Go with the Curve. it fits better in the hand with the same screen size and better features.
All that GSM hardware in the world phone also pumps up the price.
I just upgraded from the 8830 to the 8330. The 8830, while a real workhorse of a device, really doesn't belong in anyone's hands that doesn't need full World phone capabilities. It's a great phone and I loved mine, don't get me wrong. It's just not something that many people need.
ive used the 8830 and 8330 i by far love the media features and memory of the curve but i will say this the 8830 is a tank! my father owns one and i have the curve i have never dropped my curve or even dinged it its mint but it feels like it is fragile in the hand which is fine for me since i am very careful. but the 8830 feels much more solid to me at least.and his has been dropped about half a dozen times its scratched up like **** but runs great. i am impressed by it.
I have both and I love both. I like the world mainly bc I like the keyboard better.
I do like that the curve has a lot more memory and the camera is nice. I would get the curve if you plan on having more applications. On my world, I don't put a lot on it since it really doesn't have enough memory.

I've had both. The 8330 has a ton more memory. On that alone i would vote for it. But then you get the camera and multimedia aspects and it really wins. The 8830 is more for the corporate set.
