Hi, I bought a 8300 from ebay and had no problem updating the OS to 4.5 and getting rid of the IT policy. My dad (after playing with my 8300) decided to buy an 8310 off ebay. I did exactly what I did with my phone. I.e download the OS to his computer, delete the vendor.xml file.etc etc but when it comed to loading it on the phone the application loader just tells me there are no updates available.so its stuck on 4.2 and I can't use jml_cmndr to remove the IT policy!!! I've made sure he has the most recent desktop manager, the right OS file for the phone, wiped the phone from the security options on the phone. Searched for hidden vendor.xml files and even tried updating from tje actual BBUK site and everytime the same thing. Ther are no updates available for this device. Does anyone know why this is happening and how I go about correcting it. Please help and ill be forever greatfull. Cheers alex.

Okay well I'm not saying this will work, but have you tried just connecting to the Desktop Manager and updating from there? This has happen to me before, my phone said there was no update available but I was able to do it on the Desktop Manager. Try it out. Like go on the BlackBerry website (with Desktop Manager open), click on Device Software, then find 4.5 and click update.
