I bought a BB 8320 earlier this year and loved it. I could connect to my wireless router in my home for better reception and also for web browsing without a data plan. Changing the ringtone was easy and I even was able to load my own homemade ringtones onto it. I could rearrange the icons and make them invisible if I wanted.
    Then my BB was stolen.
I read a little bit and found that the 8310 has GPS on it, so when I bought my next phone I bought an AT&T 8310 and unlocked it.
Now, I can't do ANY of the things I loved about the 8320 and I can't get the GPS to work without a subscription even though I KNOW it should.
This is probably due in part to my buying an AT&T phone, it's probably in their programming, but can anyone tell me, is the 8310 just less useful than the 8320? And can anyone help me unlock these features PLEASE?

I think the main differences between the two were that the 8310 has GPS capabilities and the 8320 has the Wi-Fi support. As for being able to change your icons around...you can do that on the 8310 by clicking on the menu button then using the hide and/or move icons. Hide will make them invisible.

    8310 - GPS no WiFi
    8320 - WiFi no GPS

    Otherwise, they are the same.

I have both the 8310 and 8320, but the 8320 is only for a backup. I am not usually near Wi-Fi and GPS to me is the most important thing.

So it's really up to you what is most important.

Have you tried Google maps?? I am on AT&T and use Google maps for my GPS needs and there's no subscription involved. You still use data to download the maps, but if you are on a data plan you should be paying nothing for it.

I liked my 8310 with the GPS. I had that GPS up and navigating me through St Louis the day I got it. Great phone. WiFi is cool but to me GPS is a higher importance.

I have an 8320 with an external gps. After using it for a while I wish I would have gone with the 8310 with the internal gps. I find that BIS is fast enough for my needs and I now leave the WiFi feature turned off.
