Nope. Upgrade away. Just be sure that the OS is for your specific MODEL number.
Just as long as you delete the Vendor.xml file you'll have no problems wat so ever...
That is how most of the newer software gets upgraded. One provider will put out an update with some tweaks and it will make its way to Crackberry. Sometimes you have to adjust the radio file to work with your specific carrier. There is tons of info on here how to do this. Like M. Mama said make sure the OS is for your model though. Don't try putting Tour software on a 8330. Once you do one upgrade you might also notice the hybrid OS's that are all over this site. They take the best features of two or more OS's and mesh them together to make very good programs.

And there's the 8330 and the 8330m out there, so go into your Options then under About to see which you truly have. I did my first OS upgrade last week, went from .131 to .169 (did hubby's last night) and am loving it!
