    8330 has EVDO Rev.0 which is a 3G technology. It says so right on the back of your 8330.

    Why on my Curve does it always say 1xev but on my Pre it will say EV?

    My guess is that it's just how it's displayed on the Pre as opposed to how it's displayed on the Curve. It's the same thing.
