Post your "boot time" for your Curve 9370/9360/9350
- I've been experimenting with the length of boot time it takes for my BlackBerry to boot up. I found that certain aspects of the phone does highly affect the length of time to boot up the BlackBerry.
The obvious elements (that have an effect on the boot up time) are:
- Which OS you have installed
- How many applications you have installed
- How many applications are set to open when the phone turns on
However, I searched "boot time" on CB and found out that things like- How much storage your memory card upholds (in terms of MB/GB)
- Whether you have a custom wallpaper that is stored on your memory card
- Custom 3rd party themes
- Memory, such as messages, application cache and browser memory (history, cookies, cache etc)
ALSO have a mass amount of affect on just how long your phone will take to boot up.
So, that being, I moved my wallpaper (.jpg file) onto the phone memory, took out my memory card, removed 3 third party apps, performed memory cleaning and performed a battery pull. It took the phone 7mins to boot up.
However, after clearing out the messages, call logs, signing out of Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr, cleaning browser memory and then finally, performing another memory cleaning push, I then pulled the battery out and it took me 3mins for the boot up (the bar) but anoter 40sec to get passed the "stop clock", before the home screen appeared. (keeping in mind, the memory card was still not inserted).
So, I was thinking, it would be interesting to see other users post their boot up times, detailing it specifically, such as:- Which OS version you have installed
- How many apps installed (and set to run on startup)
- Whether you have a memory card inserted and the storage amount
- Custom theme/wallpaper?
I think, if we can pretty much tackle down the big elements that will decrease the long winded length in boot up, it will benefit BB users in the long run (until BB 10, perhaps? ;-) lol)
