So it was my stag-do in Dublin last weekend and I lose my Torch 9800, just got my new 9360 (due to it having the 7 software and not costing 500).

I've now gone from Bold 9000 > Torch 9800 > Curve 9360 and I'm hoping for Curve owners such as yourselves to educate a new owner on the new software, any tips and tricks I should know etc etc

    Cheers!

The first thing i would advise you do is Update the OS ...the original OS7 had a lot of issues.. you may find out soon enough...
You may have from battery issues to media card issues to not scrolling issues and so on...
I happened to purchase mine slightly used and i found out why in a short timw... he sold it fast as no other upgrades had been in place at that time...
But i will tell you as soon as i got that chance to upgrade the OS this phone is running just as you would want it too...
I loaded the leaked version OS7.1.0.258 but is now official which can be found in the forums...
Have fun and good luck with your new device...

It says my version is 7 bundle 2259 (v7.0.0.530, platform 8.0.0.499). Does seem quicker than the v6 I had on the 9800 and more fluid etc.

Here's the chat from Vodafone (UK):

NeelVin: you would get a prompt on your blackberry phone if you are eligible to update to v7.1.0.258.

You: Do you know when it might be released?

NeelVin: I have checked with blackberry specialist team, once it is released, our blackberry team will send you the notification, as they don't know the exact date.

You don't need an official Vodafone release to update the phone. Download the latest build (from CB, on this forum) and install. This whole official release from an individual carrier is bogus.

I am now extremely proud of myself as I have the 7.1.0.258 on my Curve! Absolutely chuffed with it, seems to be OK, so far so good.

Thanks for the tips - did it in work this morning, took about 4 hours from start to finish with lots of trial and error but got there in the end.

Thank god for Crackberry, the forum's are superb!

OK so it's been a few days with the .258 and I can safely say it's a better OS.

However, one of the very few anomalies that come with include after a reset (hard or soft) is that the screen brightness always reverts back to 70, when I always have mine at 10 (the lowest possible). Bit odd and by no means the end of the world but an annoying piece of admin to do after every reboot anyway.

I am missing something? Is there a screen brightness default setting that I've left on 70 somewhere? Or is it just a weird bug?
