im updating my blackberry software to the new version 7.1, but it backs my phone up and everytime it gets to social feeds it crashes at 10%, i take the battery out to try & solve it & it just does it again ...

anyone got any suggestions

I would try selecting the option of upgrading without backing up the phone and restoring.

Do your backup manually either with desktop manager or via BB protect.

After the os is installed then restore from the backup you created ahead of time.

Mine did exactly the same, only it kept stopping at 6%.

I had pulled the battery a few times but it just stopped at 6% again.

Had to go out so just left the phone on 6%, when I got back, about 5 hours later, it had all gone through and was working.

I'd suggest leaving it for a very long period of time before trying anything else?
