My Blackberry Curve 9360 is constantly on SOS, there is not one time that it gets a signal. I have tried different areas, different sims and I've had no luck. I've completely wiped the device and re-installed the OS but still no luck. Any Ideas??

Try your SIM in another phone to prove there is no fault in account (SIM) permissions. Any phone will do, even a dumbphone. All you need to prove is voice functionality.

Did it ever work? Did it stop working after an upgrade or just suddenly without making any changes on the phone? If the latter maybe the carrier needs to turn on a service.

Sim has already been tried in a different phone and it works fine. Could there be a setting on my phone which needs changing? The phone has been unlocked to any network. When trying to search manually for a network it can't find nothing at all!

Yes it used to work but just stopped working. I've unlocked the phone and used a different sim (Vodafone) which I know works as I used to use to sim in my old phone. Could it be something to do with bands or frequencies?

did you buy it second hand? could have been barred, ring your service provider and ask them quoting the imei number (or the original carrier)

No it's not second hand. I've just checked on a website and It's not barred, good thinking though.

I think it could be something to do with my bandmode, it's currently set to GSM850. It should be set to GSM900 frequency - it's a requirement for EDGE/GPRS to work, does anyone know how i would change it to GSM900?

I don't think you can change the frequency... I believe it's permanently set in the hardware.

Any chance it was not properly unlocked ? If you go back to the original SIM/carrier it was locked to, does it work ?

I don't know how BB manages the frequencies, but usually a phone checks for all the frequencies it is able to handle. Do you know which frequency your operator/country uses ?

Yes it's definitely unlocked properly. No it doesn't work when trying the SIM it was locked to! Yes my country uses frequency GSM950.

Don't you find it strange that it doesn't work with the original SIM ? I think the unlocking process changed something that it wasn't supposed to.

Can't you take it back for the warranty ?

As far as i know 9360 supports all 4 GSM bands available worldwide. It is on 2G/3G mode, 2G only or 3G only mode ?

have you paid your phone bill? i dont know what is causing the problem tbh maybe a problem with the antenna or something? did it just randomly start displaying sos or did it happen after a fall, dropped in water or os change?
