You mean there are alot of IPD backup files? If so, then yes, delete some if you need the space. They are only useful if you ever want to restore data from backup.
You can delete any old backups you don't want, the most recent backup is usually the most important since it holds the most recent data, unless you wish to load older data that aren't in recent backups
