welcome to the addiction! DL some apps, i like iheartradio, viigo, and fml. then get one or two cool themes. Probably most importantly, I would recommend some sort of case for protection. I have two Blackberry silicone skins and they work well. Seidio makes AWESOME hard cases for Blackberries. Even if you only drop your phone once, if its not protected, your gonna be a sad addict! lol

Welcome. You're supposed to start a new thread and ask what applications you should install. Also ask about cases, screen protectors, and what OS everyone is running. Then you'll fit right in.

And for those without sarcasm........... I'm joking.

I will also be getting my first BB soon, the 8900! my question is, why do you have to upgrade the OS immediatly? don't these phones ever come out of the box up to date and optimized with all the latest stuff? I don't have a phone yet , but i am already reading up on changing crap I know nothing about. can't you use them as is out of the box? I hate touching new stuff!! sorry about the noob questions.

Don't upgrade immediately. Get to know your phone first and then search around here and get comfortable with it.

I am realizing from the post's you upgrade, but my question was why? all this money for a phone that is not up to date, i don't get that part? I would like to buy a product that is new , meaning, current ? just wondering why.
