hey guys, i just got a 2nd hand BB 8900 from ebay off of someone who owned it for a week and decided to switch to the new iphone.

I have never owned a BB or smartphone before, is there anything that I should do to clear the phone memory from its' previous owner or anything of that sorts?

you can wipe the handheld - options / security options / general settings / menu / wipe handheld / "blackberry"

or reload the OS (reccomended) especially if its an older one (i.e. .114)

Do you know if the seller called their cell phone provider and had the PIN released??? You will know if they did when you try to setup this device and try to setup your email accounts... you will need to call your provider and register your PIN... you can do this through your provider's website... log in and go to the BIS server setup and enter your PIN.
