    but network shows that i'm connected. In network management, it has a white dash instead of a green check next to the wifi network.

    means your wifi on the phone is turned on but you are NOT connected to the network

    doubt it. it happens at home and work....been like this for a couple days now. wifi works with my laptop so that's not the case. very strange.

    ISP doesnt matter to a greyed out icon.....

    as long as your are connected to the router the wi fi icon will be "lit" up

    Try a reset of the router

    Try a battery pull on your phone and then restart your router.

    If you go to,.. Manage Connections on your BB and select Services Status does it list your settings as being WiFi

    I had the same problem, did a battery pull and voila! problem solved!!

    This is crazy..so i went ahead and deleted my saved router connection and went thru the detect and setup process. It says connection was successful but wifi icon is still greyed out!?!?

    i think I'm gonna go to sleep and let the elves figure it out.

    I'm using time capsule....but this was happening at work also with a different router.

    If so, the MAC address filtering needs to be disabled.
